Foothills Country Fair

Poultry Show

RULES

All poultry must be blood tested (State requirement).  Testing will be Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the show barn in Benton (fairgrounds) from 9:00 AM to Noon.  Fee is $0.50 per bird.  If you cannot be there, call Lawrence Steward (423-263-9531) to make other arrangements.

1.  Poultry Entries should be called in to Lawrence Steward (423-263-9531) or Don Ledford (423-338-2302) before Saturday, May 12, 2006

2.  Enter Poultry Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from 12 - 5 PM.

3.  Judging will begin Wednesday, 16, 2007. Entries must show the name and address of exhibitor along with the number of specimens and variety of each breed entered.

4.  Entry fees must accompany entries.  All fees must be paid in full at the time of entry.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  No attention will be paid to entries unaccompanied by fees.

5. Entry fee is $1.00 per bird. There will be a 50 bird limit per exhibitor.

6. Birds must stay until Sunday for prize money and must be picked up Sunday, May 20, 2007.

7. No birds may be removed from the exhibit building without the consent of the show superintendent.

8. The Club will give the birds proper attention, but will not be responsible for any loss or damage which may occur.

9. All standard-breed poultry, as defined in the Standard of Perfection, will be accepted and judged.

10. The Club reserves the right to reject any entry.

11. Any specimen showing symptoms of disease when received or during the exhibit will be immediately removed from the exhibition building and returned  to the owner.

12.  The Judge will be empowered to withdraw prizes when in his opinion specimens are not of sufficient merit.  Judges will not award premiums to any bird because of its presence. It must individually be worthy.

13.  Poultry eligible to show:  Bantams, Standards & Pigeons.

Classes

There are four classes (Cocks, Hens, Cockerels and Pullets) in each variety of each breed.

Classes are thus defined: 

Cockes & Hens are birds one year oldor over.

Cockerels & Pullets are birds less than one year.

There must be at least 3 birds in a class to receive prize money.
